Billy-Joe went to the vet for a check up.
He's doing very well (taking his serious condition in account); he's eating very well, taking all his medicines and since last week he came back to the very naughty kitten like he's always been.
All good one would say but at the same time we're very sad as he's diagnosed with DCM: Dilated Cardiomyopathy which means that he has enlarged (upper) heart chambers which causes the heart to become overloaded and will often lead to congestive heart failure and life prognosis is only 6-18 months.
We're still in denial as it's very hard to accept because he's only 1 year old and we hope he'll have a MUCH longer life with us.
We have to continue his medication and he will have another check up in 3 months time.

We saw that Davy had a "wrinkled" ear all of a sudden.
According to our vet he had a heamatoma, when blood accumulates between the 2 layers and then it wrinkles after the blood is reabsorbed and scar tissue remains.
This could be caused by scratching due to an infection or ear mites but his ear is very clean and there are no signs of an infection.
Just to make sure we gave him Stronghold, which kills ear mites, and we'll keep an eye on him.

Billy-Joe is recovering very well.
Maybe a bit "too well" as he's running like crazy again and this is something he shouldn't do...
Even Babouschka is doing very well, eating and acting like normal again.

Babouschka wasn't feeling well, she was only eating a little and was sneezing a bit so we called the vet who came for a home visit this evening.
She has the beginning of a flu and her throat was a bit irritated so she got an antibiotics injection and a half dose steroid injection (to prevent an infection going into her lungs).
From the 10th October she will have an antibiotic course for 5 days.

Vet Day
Our vet, Dr. Victoria Bondin, came for a home visit today.
First of all to check Billy-Joe but of course there are always other "problems".

Billy-Joe had a check up and although it will take some time for him to recover, he seems to be ok for now.
Fuxa is always our "problem child".
He has skin problems regularly and at this time he had again problems with his back legs and face.
He had an antibiotics injection and a (short lasting) steroid injection.
We don't like the steroids but unfortunately this seems to be the only remedy....

Mosti was also examined as he has a bad looking nose and we're afraid that he has nose cancer.
According to the vet it COULD be the beginning of nose cancer but not necessarily.
He also got a (long lasting) steroid injection and we can only hope that this will help.
He was also microchipped.
