Our sweetest LOLA has nose cancer and isn't doing very well...
Today our vet came for a home visit and although she advised us to put her to sleep we agreed to give her the very best last days.
We'll give her a painkiller and another medicine which contains cannabis (so she'll be high all day).
We know this is only a temporary solution and she doesn't have long to live but we'll give her the VERY best time as long as she's not suffering.

A VERY SAD DAY
MARBLE was doing quite well these last days, she was eating very well and was alert (although not walking properly) so we had high hopes that she would recover but unfortunately we saw this morning that she deteriorated all of a sudden.
We've contacted our vet to come for a home visit but at 2 pm her situation came worse and we knew that she was leaving us...
Of course we stayed with her until she took her last breath and she passed away in our arms peacefully.
RIP dear Marble.

MR. RIZZO is a cat who's living in our street (in an empty house with a big garden) and is fed by my husband Charlie every morning and evening.
Charlie saw that he was having difficulties to eat so he caught him and was taken to the vet for a dental.
All his teeth (except one) were removed and he'll have antibiotics for 5 days.
He's not happy in the recovery cage but he has to finish his antibiotics and after that we'll put him back where he's used to live.
A difficult decision as we would like to keep him here but he doesn't like other cats so for sure he'll be more happy there. We'll see how he goes and if things don't work out, we'll take him here.

Another emergency today.
MARBLE lost her balance this morning so we took her to the vet.
A lot of tests were done, also an X-ray, but it's still not clear what caused it.
Most probably she had a heart attack and/or a fit.
She got a diuretic, a steroid injection and a vitamin B injection and will be on medication for 14 days.
Let's hope she'll be better soon!
We'll keep a close eye on her!
P.S.: MARBLE used to live at Mellieha Bay Hotel, which will be demolished soon, and because of her old age (she's at least 12 years old but maybe more) we took her in last year to let her enjoy her last years.

BAMBI is doing very well!
I was very worried about her because she NEVER defecated, despite all the tummy massages(!) and had to give her an enema every other day.
But this morning I was the happiest mummy in the world as she did her very first poopie in the litter box! (how happy you can be with a little bit of shit... haha!)
She's 26 days old today, 405 grams.

KOLA, who was found in a colony with a collar tangled with her front leg which caused a very nasty wound, was neutered and micro chipped today.
Her wound is healing well (she's on antibiotics) but it's a long way to go.
For sure she was a home cat who was dumped and we'll try to find the very best home for her but most probably she'll stay with us forever.

My husband Charlie is always taking care of all the cats in our sanctuary and is feeding another 125 cats in colonies but from today he had another (extra) job!
Neighbours had to go abroad all of a sudden and could't find anyone to take care of their birds so WHO could they ask?
Charlie of course... haha... so now he made new friends and is teaching them to say: "Charlie!" and whistles...

COCO recovered very well, was eating very good and gained quite some weight.
We wanted to keep her in our sanctuary but she loves her freedom and is taken care of by a neighbour in a very nice villa so we decided to take her back there.
She's living the life of a queen there, with the VERY best food (freshly cooked fish every day!) and is very happy!
Of course we'll keep a close eye on her and if anything happens, we'll take care of her.
