BEN is doing well!
He's in a room by himself as otherwise we wouldn't be able to give him the antibiotics he needs. He doesn't really like to be by himself as he really likes company but after he had his medicine we let Copper Dewdrop in his room so they can cuddle up together (no picture yet).
The antibiotics are working as he didn't have any blood in his urine these last days but we still have another 4 days to go!

Billy-Joe is one of our problem children...
On the 26th September 2019 he was in a very bad state as all of a sudden he couldn't breath and had a very fast heart beat. He was rushed to the vet and was in an oxygen chamber until 4.30 am next morning; at that time he was stable but still not breathing 100%. An ultrasound and blood tests were done, blood was ok but he had a bad heart murmur: his upper 2 heart chambers are enlarged (dilated cardiomyopathy) so his heart becomes overloaded and this will often lead to congestive heart failure. According to the vet it's genetic in Billy-Joe's case (was born with this condition) and needs medicines for life.
His life expectancy wasn't very long and the vet gave him only one more year...
But... hey hey! After 3.5 years he's still alive and kicking!!!!
He's still very naughty and gives me a hard time every single day to give him his medicines but it's worth it!
Here's a picture to show how he's hiding, he thinks that I don't see him...

BEN went to the vet as he had blood in his urine.
Tests were done and (at least) he didn't have any crystals in his urine (yet) but he has a urinary infection and has to be on special (urinary) food for life as his condition could end up worse, i.e. could get blocked.
Of course we'll try to give him urinary food only but with so many cats around it's VERY difficult!
From next Thursday he needs antibiotics for 7 days. Another VERY difficult task as, although he's been here since he was a kitten, he's very skittish and very difficult to handle.
Fingers crossed!

Enjoying the sun after 2 days of very bad weather!

LUIGI was so sad after his best friend DEAN passed away...
We're very happy that he found his new best friend CHRISSY!
For sure it's not the same, as Luigi and Dean were inseparable, but at least he's a bit less sad.

Exactly 10 years ago (6th February 2013) BANJO was adopted from us by a lovely English couple Melanie and John, it was love at first sight!
We always keep in touch with the people who adopted from us and a couple of months ago we were informed that they were going to move back to the UK and (of course) they were going to take Banjo with them but because of Brexit they couldn't take him with them on the same flight and we were asked if we could take care of him until he was leaving. Of course we did!
So Banjo spent the weekend in our care and early this morning at 5.15 am he was picked up by the driver of Thomas Smith Shipping (with a van of Wags & Whiskers PET Transport Service Malta).
It was a nerve-wrecking day (for his owners AND us!) as our mind wouldn't be at rest until he arrived safely at his new home in the UK!
Late afternoon we finally got the news that he arrived safely!
Thank you Melanie and John for taking such good care of your baby!
