Despite the many adoption requests we've received for Guapo, we didn't find the right home for him yet.
Guapo needs a lot of attention and needs human attention but most people work long hours and another reason is that most people are living in a flat/apartment with balconies/terraces which are not 100% secured or in a house with a big (unsecured) garden.
We are told many times that they always keep everything closed but how can we possibly believe that in a country like Malta, where temperatures are very high in summer, people will leave their doors and windows closed?!
Another one wanted to keep him the yard.... as if!!!
(this lady denied that she wanted to keep him in her yard but during my home visit it was very obvious that this was her intention!)
So... we're still hoping that the right person(s) will come up as it would be so nice for Guapo to have a home for himself.
His ideal home would be with people who work from home, or are retired, as he loves human company.
As stated before: it has to be 100% safe so please (to save yourself and us time) don't apply when you can't offer that.
Furthermore it has to be a home without other pets or small children.
If you think you can offer him the right home, please complete our Adoption Request Form.

Gussy was taken to the vet as we thought he wasn't feeling well.
The vet already examined him last Thursday and told us that he could have problems with his kidneys but that a blood test was needed.
All blood tests were done today and fortunately NOTHING was wrong with him! Only a bit dehydrated because he was sleeping in the sun!
He got 2 vitamin injections and from tomorrow Calo Pet.

VET DAY
Our vet came to microchip 11 cats today as microchipping is required by Animal Welfare (government department) for sanctuaries since this year.
Another 17 have been already microchipped when they were taken to the vet these last months.
Still a long way to go but we won't stress them out by catching them for just a microchip; we did some easy ones today but the others will only be caught and microchipped when they need a vet visit.

We received a message from somebody who said that their cat was for adoption because they couldn't keep him anymore as they had a baby and they thought the baby wouldn't be safe with him.
Usually we don't take in any home cats but this case touched our hearts as we feared for his safety so we decided to take him in.
They brought him here last Saturday and this broke our hearts...
He was very upset when he realized that they left him behind so I've spent a lot of time with him, talking to him and trying to make him feel safe.
At least he was a bit better day by day and today he finally started eating and trusting me! He only wants to be cuddled!
This made my day!
He's gorgeous and we would be happy to keep him here but being the only cat all his life, we think it's better to find him a home where he will have ALL the attention so he's up for adoption.
Hopefully I'll find him the VERY best home where he will be loved FOREVER!
