A cat with a collar which was tangled under her forearm was found in a colony.
She has a very nasty wound and we're treating her.

A very sad day as unfortunately Babouschka didn't come any better these last two days, she only came worse.
This morning she was hardly breathing so we took her to the vet again.
By the time we arrived at the vet she was hardly breathing and we had to decide to let her cross the rainbow bridge.
We've cried our eyes out as we loved her so much although we had her in our care for only one year but at least we know that we gave her the very best time of her life.
RIP dear Babouschka.

BABOUSCHKA wasn't eating and breathing badly so we took her to the vet.
Unfortunately a big tumor was found near her stomach which most probably is lymphoma.
Because of her old age, she's at least 12 years old but could be much older, it would be too risky to operate her as it would be a big operation and even if she would survive this, it would be a long recovery which would be very difficult to survive.
After a long discussion with our vet we decided that we'll do everything to give her the best quality of life as we won't give up on her already.
She had a steroid injection and from this Sunday she'll have steroid tablets for 15 days.
We will shower her with love and we can only hope and pray that she'll feel better in the coming days...
For who doesn't know her story:
Babouschka was living in a colony in a busy street and last year May her feeder asked/begged us to take her in.
Although we were already full up at that time, we decided to take her in as she was already very old and we were feeling sorry for her.
For sure she was a home cat before as she's the most lovely cat you can imagine.
It took us 4 months until we finally managed to keep her inside our house and since that time she's the queen of the house and never wants to go outside again!

COCO is living in our street and was always fed by us, already in our former house (a few houses away from where we are now); she's 15 years old.
We could have taken her with us in our new sanctuary but she loves her freedom and is still always safe at our former house where she's always fed by us and she's even going to one of our neighbours who's also feeding her.
We noticed that she was having eating difficulties and last Sunday we finally managed to catch her (not an easy job!).
We took her to the vet yesterday and she had a massive abscess under her chin, infections in her mouth and one canine was removed.
Blood tests were all good and she's FIV/FeLV negative so that was good news!
She had to stay on the drip for 24 hours so we picked her up today an is now recovering in our sanctuary for 10 days as she needs antibiotics for 10 days.

A few days old kitten was found abandoned and brought to us this morning. Her eyes and ears are still closed and her weight is only 120 grams.
Although we decided not to take in any more kittens, we couldn't close our eyes and we will do our utmost to bring her up to a healthy and happy kitten!

Sofia came home today!
Her breathing is still a bit shallow but, according to the vet, that will take time to sort itself out.
She was so happy to be home! She didn't eat at the vet, they had to force feed her, but as soon as she came home she started drinking and eating!

We had very high vet bills these last months...
Thanks to everybody who donated already (you know who you are) but if you didn't: please consider to help us and donate. Every little thing helps!
